Summary:
The Inventory Manager will oversee the replenish systems, storage, control, and flow of materials according to the SIOP requirements.
Supervisory
Responsibilities:
Manages and trains employees.
Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Supervises up to 15 people.
Job Duties/
Responsibilities:
Performs role of Plant Principle Champion for Material Control Principle Identifies key actions supporting road map for improving material control maturity to optimize inventory and meet customer service levels.
Tracks and drives Action Plans to achieve Maturity Levels in Material Control principle according Leadership expectations.
Develops training and implementation plans for processes within maturity levels in accordance with plant objectives.
Develops budget and manpower requirements for Inventory Control, Receiving, Material Handling, and Parts Crib.
Establishes lot sizes and packaging requirements for Purchased Parts and collaborates with the Purchasing Team to implement these commercial requirements effectively with Fecon's supply base.
Manages the relationship with Fecon's off-site warehouse partner.
Ensures all raw material and purchased component operations have proper material handling equipment and resources to complete tasks on schedule and safely.
Coordinates activities for warehouse layout.
Maintains effective working relationship and communication with all departments.
Influences/Educates/Supports manufacturing operations to improve key measure performance.
Operates within budget and contributes to the overall reduction of overhead and expenses.
Manages Receiving department and raw material storage.
Establishes and maintains inventory data integrity.
Responsible for data integrity of the ERP system including material locations and negatives on hand.
Oversees daily cycle counts and inventory accuracy, reconciliation of inventory discrepancies or inaccuracies.
Provides support to production scheduling on all material flow issues to meet production requirements and customer needs.
Coordinates scheduling and inventory movement for all outside processing inventory locations.
Interfaces with Production Control Team on planning and forecasting.
Maintains inventory at lowest possible level while ensuring efficient operational processes and maintain customer delivery expectations.
Supports Engineering with new product development sourcing needs and phase in / phase out of inventory.
Manages the identification and disposition of excess and obsolete inventory.
Manages inventory forecasting and report on variances.
Coordinates annual Physical Inventory.
Performs other related duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities:
Previous personnel management experience Knowledge and experience with MRP Knowledge and experience with pull systems Knowledge and experience with warehousing systems Proven ability to work within a multifunctional team and ability to manage in a rapidly changing environment with professionalism Positive personality that can communicate with all levels of the organization Proven track record of accomplished projects with increasing responsibilities Experience with lean manufacturing is preferred Familiarity with Six Sigma principles is preferred Experience with PFEP methodology preferred Change Agent Experience with Inventory forecasting and reducing scheduling variances preferred.
APICS Certification in CPIM, CSCP OR CLTD preferred Ability to manage in a highly dynamic work environment Excellent organizational and planning skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's Degree preferred in Operations/Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering 7
years of experience in materials management role in a manufacturing environment Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
